Service
and Small Jobs:
Our Service
Department has won numerous awards from many of
our customers, including Pulte Homes first award
for quality customer service, as measured by JD
Powers and Associates. No matter how small the
job, we will be glad to handle it for you. We
are available 24 hours a day for emergencies.
You should know we are different than most
contractors doing service work though. We do
it the old fashioned way. We charge you by how
many hours it actually takes to do the work,
not by a flat rate.
You may not be aware of what flat rate pricing
is. Let us educate you. This type of pricing
first started in the automotive industry and
then made its way to the air conditioning industry,
and it has finally become common place in the
electrical industry.
The idea is to charge you a small upfront fee
to come to the home and then when the service
person gets there, talk you into accepting the
work you need done, at a ridiculously high "flat
rate" or "guaranteed rate". The
service person typically gets a percentage of
everything he sells, so it is in his best interest
to get you to pay whatever he can. Typically this results in the homeowner paying several times more than he would have paid if he had just paid for the hours it actually took.
